New VTR Recruit

Good evening all. Have only just moved from Hinkley triples to a VTR Twin, I am looking for advice. My 2001 model came with standard cans, I found them too quiet so I purchased a lovely set of Art cans from ebay, they sound awesome. The bike sometimes cuts out at idle and can feel at lower revs that it is hunting, is this normal?
Must confess to be totally addicted to the power delivery though, huge grin factor even riding to work at 04 40 this morning.
I am also looking for any handy hints about...well really anthing. What to look out for and what works best.
The bike has Harris adjustable rear sets fitted, which although look fantastic, are giving me cramp so they will have to go, any good to anybody, if not it will be ebay!!
Anyway, must dash Rangers are on the telly!!!
Cheers
Rab

Cutting at idle seems to be the norm, mine does it, hopefully new reg/rec and carbs balanced will cure it, theres loads of info on here about anything and everything to do with the Storm, only problem is this site emptys your bank balance quicker than the wife and teenage daughter, eg. how much do you want for your rearsets

Good choice of bike mate  . I had the same problem at idle too. I increased the idle revs and that sorted mine. Theres a screw on the left near your choke, if you open the throttle while your looking you should see it, give it a try and if you still havin trouble ask again. This forums got some very knowledgeable members.

what a player Ferguson eh!

Thanks for the response folks, I will have a shiftie through the site and check out all the info.

Haven't got a clue as to the rear sets value, any ideas? In 25 years of biking i dont recall having anything so fiddler on me bike!

:D

Check out flee bay for a price mate. I saw a set on there the other day but can't remember how much they were. Don't worry Kaz your not the only one. I've only just managed to figure out how to get my back wheel off(new tyre).

I never quite understood folks desire to eliminate this. It might be the child in me (no whacko jacko jokes please) but i always thought it sounded fecking great :P

Maybe if you had really screwed up your fueling then fair enough but nothing wrong with some popping and banging.

How did boyd miss that penalty, you would have bet your house on him of all folk to score.

Don't forget
Some of the early Art cans required rejetting. If they are the race (Beta cans?) they might be running too lean and need a tweek

:D Welcome aboard Bob :D

I'm in Scone, on M*******all Road. Don't suppose you are in Ba******e and ride a red SP1 zero?
As for swapping from Hinkley back to Honda, I originally went to Triumph following a bad Honda VFR experience, "best all rounder" my butt. Bike had 4000 miles when i bought it, gave me 3 years of failure and misery. Went to Triumph triples, firstly Daytona 955i and lastly Sprint RS, both good bikes but I must confess to find the VTR is of a higher standard of finish and build quality is definately better.
As for Boyd, well what can you say!
