Anyone tried a "Power Pill"??

Post by Sham »

Hi all...

I've seen these pills you're supposed to plop into your fuel tank and they claim to clean and boost power.

Has anyone actually tried them or is it a big bag of old rock??

They're just an octane booster. A couple of my mates tried 'em and said they felt an increase in power but I reckon it was more a placebo effect than anything...

If you want a real kick you need avation fuel we call it avcat or avpeen  .I mixed it at a 20% ratio and f**k me it is wicked stuff :P  but dont put more than 20% in as it blows the heads off 8O .
noise polution?,you should see my MPG!!!

? What Octane fuel do you have there ?

We have 91 or 96 unleaded crap... but the storm is a low compression engine.
SP1 or SP2 have the high compression,,.. and higher octane will help there.

we have 91, 95, 98 and 100 octane unleaded fuel in germany. usually I fill up with 91. I tried also 95 and 98 octane but I´ve seen no improvement regarding performance etc.

some guys tested 100 octane and they´ve seen ~2hp more compared to 91 octane on a dynojet.

some prices in germany

91octane ~1.08 € per liter
95octane ~1.10 € per liter
98octane ~1.15 € per liter
100octane ~1.25 € per liter

....expensive 2hp with 100 octane...

I use 91 also,.. .. no problems.

Energy labeling test have shown that 96 will give an imporved MPG,.. but a higher cost $.
I guess kms(miles) per dollar,.. and FUN value are the keys.

Fuel here is like kerosen with addative,.. really crappy

Why not use Shell V-Power like Michael Schumacher & co?

the Shell V-Power is the 100octane stuff I´ve mentioned above.

so it´s a question of price.

the difference of 100octane and 91octane is 0,17€ per liter. it´s quite too much money for only ~2hp more

Fritz

PS: M. Schumacher is a looser... he needs 8 cylinders more than we need to be fast !

Are you sure :?: Where i live V-Power is a 95 octane unleaded fuel. Source; Shell´s homepage. I got unsure when I read your comment, so I just checked it.
