Has anyone had any experience of the quality of the Motorola RAZR V3 mobile phone (see pic's)

The reason I'm asking is my wife was given a V3 phone without a charger, so I bought a charger for it and it still wouldn't charge, so I bought a new battery, still won't charge, so I have a look on ebay for one with a broken LCD screen, so I can make a good one out of the two, but too my amazement (I've just had a look again) there's 29 faulty ones on there at the moment, some of these are only 12mths old and have the same problems as ours, we were intending to buy 2 new ones (not in pink for me I hasten to add  ) I'm now thinking perhaps it's not a very reliable phone and should get a different make, what I liked about this V3 was it would fit nicely in the pocket of my leathers. So have any of you got this phone :?: if so I would appreciate hearing your opinion on it :!:

Cheers,

Chris.

Have you got a USB charger for it, it's one of those small ones, same as Sony cameras, try that my other Motorola will not charge from mains only USB.

Motorola has the distinct reputation of being absolutely pathetic over here. Even the phone shop told me to steer clear of them!

I had a razr (whatever it was called)not the flip, knew of 3 others that failed in the first year so good old ebay, (it was an upgrade so didnt cost me anything).
Had a very first tri band timeport motorola, that packed up on 11 months, then we had another very small one for the wife, that gave up after 10 months.
now wont buy anything other than Nokias, also had a Sharp (Beckham style) but that went for repair inside a year.
Ive had to repair a couple of Nokias over a year old, but parts easy to get on ebay.

Many thanks Guys for all your replies :!:

I was interested to see if any of you had had any experience of the V3 good or bad, I think really the fact that yesterday there were 29 of them for sale advertised as faulty on Ebay was a good indication.

Tony, that's a bit of a coincidence your wife having the very same phone :!: I appreciate your suggestion, but I have tried most things with it including cleaning the battery contacts. The problem seems to be a break in continuity between the plug where the charger plugs in to the phone and the battery contacts.

Phaeton (Alan) very much appreciated your suggestion also, but I tried doing that before my new charger arrived.

Timbo is the only one who has said anything good about them so far :!:
