Why is it that i cannot find a place that will fit my tyres for a resonable price????Want to go out for a ride but need to get my new tyres fitted first and the only place that can do them wants £50. There is a big gap in the market for this type of job as nowhere in the Stockport area seems to want to do it

Looks like it will be staying in the garage for another weekend

Hi Steve,
I suppose the tyre fitters who want £50 to fit your tyres really want you to purchase the tyres from them, and not from somebody else, that's why they charge so much

which I can understand to a degree although not much use to you I know

I wish you luck in finding someone cheaper
Cheers,
Chris.

That's probably the best move I would think, at least you can off-set some of the cost on what you saved on purchasing them, especially now as the weather is so good

i get mine done at kwik fit for a fiver but he cant balance the vfr wheel as he doesnt have the correct gadget or i take them to a local bike breaker who has the tyre fitting machine but he doesnt balance them.
to take 2 tyres from 1 set of wheels and replace on another set he only charged me a tenner!!!!! 50 quid is taking the piss.

I get them fitted for £10 to the bike and the guys who do it are both bikers so they take great care.
Norwich is such a great place - that's why we charge £3 extra at the airport - its worth it

Timbo, you are right, my son lives in Manchester and my daughter is at uni in Keele and the travelling is a real pain, but its worth it when you get back though. There are quite a few lovelies out at the weekend too, but now, for me, it is fond remembrances and a spectator activity!

Get yourself some plastice rim protectors and tyre levers and fit them yourself.
You will probably need a tyre bead breaker. We use one we made for changing Kart tyres.
£50 is steep. but I've heard some horror stories regarding what can happen if the garage accidentally damages the rim.
