Scam or not?

Has anyone else been receiving a phone call where a guy is telling you you have a message, it's nothing to worry about, it's actually a nice message, too hear it you need to ring 0800------------ or something similar to that
I think it actually is a scam, but normally they try to trick you into ringing a number (which costs a fortune if you fall for it) that does not start with an 0800 number, which as you know is meant to be a free phone number
Any ideas
Cheers,
Chris.

Hi Chris
I've had the same call this week as well. I've just ignored it. If someone is going to phone me and tell me they have a message for me they can tell me then and there.
Definitley a scam as far as I'm concerned.

Chris
I'll go with what Pete says, I got the same message last night and I have removed my number from the marketing lists so it is most likely a scam.

The same scam is going about with the royal mail-----------
A ticket is left through your letter box from a dodgy courier service asking you to phone this number to arrange for the parcel to be delivered, if you ring the number you have already been charged 15 pound + for the call.
i only know this as i have seen the warnings in our local post office.

Thanks Guy's for all the feedback (especially Tony's

) and advice, I think we can definitely say that one is a 'scam'
Cheers,
Chris.
