Got stopped tonight about 22 20, had been called out to work just after tea and had expected to be home about 9. Dark visor on coming home, about 3 mile trip, got pulled as it was nearly dark.
Expecting a load of hassle i.e visor,race cans and smallish numberplate. Instead got a lecture about safety,speed etc and of course the dark visor when it's nearly dark.
Two very decent guys giving me a chance and not just doing the expected.
Musn't grumble I suppose!

As per article in MCN a few weeks ago, still technically illegal to wear dark visor anytime, but national 'common sense' approach is to disregard during daylight hours. (I believe).
Doh! Angel (Halo) Smiley won't work! I 'always' carry either a clear or legal irridium visor in Timberwolf pouch just in case I get delayed and end up returning home after dark or if weather changes for the worse, like it did today.
Though it's more for my safety than that of complying with the rules. It's bad enough trying to keep your eyes peeled for numpties with 4 wheels and irratic pedestrians as it is, without the added labour of peering through a black visor in poor light.
This said, I'm lucky enough to have a Titech and although the visors for them ain't cheap (Nearly the price of a cheap Chinese lid), they are a doddle to change quickly.
Nice to see that 'the law' is used sensibly sometimes... common sense prevails
