Ill just add, its a sad day not only for rallying but he was a good off road rider as well, could easily have gone motocross instead.
nice to see Vale at Estoril with a message on the grid as they made friends when he tried his hand at rallying and was looking to play again this year.

Sad news indeed
It reminds me of Mike the bike Hailwood (for those of you old enough to remember) when he got killed along with his daughter, although iirc they were taken out by an articulated lorry doing a U turn on the motorway
My condolences to all of Colin McRae's family and friends.

I agree. Its very tragic indeed. Really feel for his family.
I can remember visting the one of the rally starts in the mid 1990's when I was a young lad. Colin was one of the main drivers of that era to bring rallying to the masses. I went wanting to catch a glimpse of that 555 Subaru! It was great!
Its sad news for any petrol head.
