Re: Anodizing
I have made some anodizing testings. I use sulfuric acid diluted with distilled water, an aluminium sheet as cathode, and aluminium wire for hanging the piece a power supply ,and specific colorants for anodizing bought on ebay. The results are very good after some tests. You have to use 1,5 A per sq...

Re: Rear shock absorber
Thanks for the recommendations. At the moment I´m going to ask a refund, I´m replacing now the defective one for original one, that is ok, in fact, I didn´t notice too much difference, if any, between the 21 years old original and the YSS. After some time, when I forget again the hard work...

Re: Rear shock absorber
YSS is now 260€ (about 229 pounds )shipped, no expensive but... the result hasn´t be fine so far. I have seen absorbers leaking with the time, but not in this way. I thought YSS was a quality item but.. and maybe it is. This is the reason ask for personal experiences, I have read almost all shock ab...

Re: Rear shock absorber
It should not, standard exhaust manifold with specific rear shock for VTR-1000, if this is the case, it´s a design fault.
Any other option for a not very expensive shock absorber?

Re: Rear shock absorber
The only reason I see for this high oil quantity and smoke is that the oil was expelled by the nitrogen pressure. I have asked for a money refund instead of a new YSS, I´m not confident with the brand. This is a real concern, what if it happends on the runway, and the oil goes to the rear wheel? Hop...

Re: Rear shock absorber
Yea, let´s see. I have to dismount, send to the seller, ( paid shipping, I have to say) the seller will send to the manufacturer or dealer, wait up to three weeks, they will decide if is warranty or my fault, :confused :confused and decide the result. The seller has told me that it will be covered i...

Re: Rear shock absorber
My new YSS rear shock absorber installed in February died today.. Arrived home and I ave seen a big amount of white smoke coming from the lower part of the bike.. Very confused, I have removed the seat to see if there was a electrical problem, but not, the problem was a high amount of oil dripping f...

Re: Changing chain & sprockets conundrum!
When I changed the kit ( stock 16/41 102 links) I was a bit surprised because the adjusters were too back, but.. it works. If I were you, I should install a 15 t sprocket, ( I did it one week ago) probably the 101 link chain will fit, and you will love this configuration if you are not planning go o...

Speedometer correction
I have on the way a 15 tooth pinion to install in the VTR instead of the stock 16 tooth, and I would like to install a device to correct the speedometer.
I have seen the speedohealer, and the speedoDRD ( hard to find in Europe).
Any other suggestion?
Thanks.
