Re: 200hp, 145 kilos...........

An object lesson in taking something special, beautiful and desireful...throwing a load of cash at it, and turning it into a dog's dinner. The lines are all wrong....top fairing looks too far away from the tank and headstock, motor looks untidy. And I would love to see how long a numberplate and rea...

Re: Blacks bike breakers very bad

Let me add my 2 penneth. Blacks Bikeshop are a bunch of c**ts!!! They are lazy, ignorant, pikey b8stard!! If they had the last part i needed on the planet, i would give up bikes before giving them money. Used to think it was convenient having them 5 miles away, till i went in there. Now it is only ...

Re: Blacks bike breakers very bad

I have used them twice. 1) They had a rear shock and linkage of an 06 Blade on eBay. I rang them and agreed a price. Went down the following day and they denied all knowledge of the call. Had to argue like feck to get the part at the agreed price. 2) Bought and paid for a position light via eBay. It...

Re: Brake Pads

I use EBC Extreme pads on the track, and they are fecking awesome (once they get some heat in them) proper brick wall stuff, but a bit pricey. On the road I stick with OEM Honda pads. They work spot on and have a good balance of power and wet weather performance. Get a bucket of soapy water, and giv...

Re: headlight covers and the plod

if conditions are dark and your head light is on, then you are in breach of the law. it is perfectly legal to have no headlight whatsoever, aslong as you obtain a daylight hours MOT!! it negaites the use of lights. as said in the earlier post, any forward facing light must be white (or some shitty ...

Re: All sp1/2 owners

SP2 is more of a road bike than the SP1. They have a revised FI system that is a bit smoother down low, slightly less mid-range for more top end, and that ohh-so-sexy swingarm. The forks are a bit softer (and according to Roger D) are not as high quality as the SP1. Fuel consumption is much of a muc...

Re: Fitting new chain - torque on chain rivetter...?

Thanks my friend.... It is a hoIlow type and I have flared it quite a bit - wound it up as tight as I could with a ratchet - it would've taken more with a longer torque wrench - but as you say - it does move, and it looks to be the same spacing as the other links.... I will watch it though, and if ...

Re: Fitting new chain - torque on chain rivetter...?

What type of soft rivets are you using? If they are the hollow type, then all you need to do is just flare them slightly. Too much pressure and you will end up with a stiff link, which will wear the O-Ring in no time. Measure across the sideplates...if it is less than the other links in the chain, t...

Re: Key cuts??

Is yours the later Firestorm with a HISS immobiliser? If so, get a key cut and coded (at a dealers) NOW. If you lose the only key, then you need a new lock and ECU...expensive.

Re: gold colored glittery oil

Is it rumbling/knocking from the bottom end? Gold coloured oil sounds like a bearing shell has spun. I am predicting an expensive and very annoying future..... (I hope I am wrong)
