Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I've had a pulsing vibration at wheel speed from the front discs for ages, so took my Brembo discs ( on the Aprilia) to Maidstone Motoliner a few weeks back to have them trued. But I still had pulsing, so, today I cleaned the discs using fine emery and Scotchbrite pads, and I also cleaned the pad f...

Re: does VTR1000 2001 has lambda probe?

The fuel-injected Varadero engines ( which are based on the same engine) will possibly have one, but I don't know for sure.

Re: does VTR1000 2001 has lambda probe?

Not as standard. They're only needed with fuel injection systems. But I added two lambda wideband sensors in the downpipes and connected a display to show real-time air/fuel stoichiometric ratios when riding, to aid carb setup, on my tuned firestorm. It saved the cost of repeated Dyno runs whenever ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I think the hire company did me a favour now, the 900cc engine might be the perfect size for these type of roads on this island, where the 1200 V4 might have been too much of an animal. I have only found one road on a steep uphill climb where I didn’t have enough grunt to fire out of the turns as f...

Re: GrainStorm IX

What a difference a day makes. USB port fitted and working, tracker reconnected. Only the seat and one side panel off. Mind you, I was thinking about how to test each wire and diagnose yesterday's problems most of the night... Time for a BBQ and some cold beers  💨 Bloody Italian bikes. It'll a...

Re: GrainStorm IX

Well, considering that all I wanted to do was to replace a usb port with a new one, it turned into a day's work. https://i.postimg.cc/jwLg0nx1/PXL-20240511-115122825.jpg The display and all electrics failed shortly after I disconnected the old usb port, and resisted all attempts to get it back to wo...

Re: Removing/replacing undertray

You also need the brackets to suit the std under tray, assuming that the aftermarket one required non standard brackets. Then it's a simple process: unbolt the required sump bolts, bolt up the standard brackets, and fit the tray. Me thinks your thinking belly pan ? Yellabelly is talking about the u...

I am going to have to thrash the life out of this to keep up with the Aprilia V4s
