After over 10 years of sunshine and rain, the paint or rather it seems the lacquer in parts has gone a cataract opaque white causing the bike to go a nice faded shade of pink - So armed with with wet n dry, etch a prime, a can of R157 and some fresh laquer. But before that I'd asked a local vinyl graphics firm ( http://instantimagesigns.co.uk/ ) the job of recreating the original tail V2 90º DOHC graphic.
From photos I traced the design as a vector in Adobe Illustrator - fun bit was duplicating the dotted half-tone gradient. With that done they were able to make a chrome and black vinyl sticker (the original is a screen-printed transfer) which took a bit of trial and error as the chrome vinyl couldn't be printed on, so they had to make it in two parts - transparent printed with black overlaying the chrome.
Today I put it all back together inc tail seat cover and mudguard and am happily chuffed at the sparkling spring clean.
