I very nearly popped down to have a look at that one. Funny, cos when I had my Triumph's a few moons ago I found this lot very good, most stuff they had on the shop floor was immac.

Enjoy your day tomorrow, i would like to pop down to Knockhill but we are off to Dobbies in Dundee.................whoopee!!!

Musn't grumble though, did a wee run to Braemar today.

Funny as F**K. Leaving Braemar and 2 hoogilins riding thru' the village at breakneck speed one on Monster and other on Speed or Street Triple, anyway get out of the village and of course with me on their tail take off like the worlds gonna end.........till the first bend.

When it all slows down...............next straight bit.............loads of gas....................next bend..................slows down.

Okay you get the picture here.

Why do people on bikes feel they have to race if someone is obviously quicker catches them up and indeed may well know the road very well.

If someone catches me up they are bloody obviously qucker/madder than me then please on you go, I will follow as best a I can but on you go matey!!

I take it you will be gardening tomorrow then

I see a lot of that type of behaviour up here, it usually is the lads who cruise round and round Inverness but when you meet them north of the Black isle they don't know the roads and rely on luck and their brakes to get them round the corners.

Cheers

ps. Have packed the waterproofs as no doubt it will P-ss rain tomorrow. Roll on Balinluig 8.00am, i can almost smell the bacon :biggrin .

See it all the time Tim

Not saying I'm that quick-cos I aint...

Not saying I ride like a nob-like to think I don't...:?: brought up to ride a bike right Id like to think.

All I want to do is go out and enjoy/be safe.

It makes me laugh though when you see the "all the gear, no idea" types...breath...here we go...

Now I'm not saying for one minute don't ride within your limits. If you feel that 50 is enough max and your happy at that-fair enough. No probs. It's all about No.1...

It's the ones with more expensive riding gear than my bike, more "bling" parts/leathers/led indicators and brand new untouched knee sliders that make me laugh. And they can't hold a safe line on a bend for sh1t-more so at relatively quick speeds...

But they'll stand there at the pub having "willy waving" contests about stuff they have...nt done? Wtf? Boggles me?

Respects a funny thing and we all have our own assumption.

For me-threads such as the old boys still riding at 70+ bring a tear to the eye (plus mucho respect :D)...now that is ace 8)

Hats off :)

Very true. While in my twenties we had a local we affectionately called "Wullie wan gear" who was in his late 70's when I first met him and was named because he tended to ride his old Matchless combo in 2nd gear which pretty much covered him from 0-40mph legend has it! He commanded much respect for still being out there every day, rain or shine, and when he finally passed away the turnout at his funeral was impressive, I hooked up with biker buddies I hadn't seen in years.

Fast forward a number of years and I come back to my parked Aprilia in Glasgow last week to find it surrounded by 5 young men who've just parked up on various Jap fours. I was wearing a new leather and Arai because I fell off my Duke in March and needed new kit so I reckon I was pegged as a middle aged "Born Again" as the conversation was a bit condescending "Does your back not get sore?", "It must be really cheap to insure at your age", "It looks hardly used, I suppose you don't get out much" etc. The biscuit taker was as I was preparing to leave I overheard the spottiest of the "Fecked up Five" comment there was "..no way that old git had the balls to scrub the back tyre on that bike", but I know better :D

I suppose one day I'll need a sidecar to stop me falling over at traffic lights and my tyres will square off like a pair of prizefighters, it may even be that protective clothing will entail some kind of "Man Nappy" ........but not today!
