well it bloody happend again, in last nights sh1t weither and the council's lack of gritting lead to an off onthe bike!
been on flee bay and dave silvers manched to get the parts down to 120 quid or just over
i was slowing for a round about up hill and wanting to go left but the trucks from my depot had realy compacted all the ice up the road so im going up up go down the gears to slow the wombles down nothing happening, sh1t sh1t ... i can see loads of cars going cross the round about started to apply the rear brake back ends now fishtailing left right left and right had no choise but to either scontine into a transit van or ditch the bike
so i grabbed the front brake and put my left leg out bike went down on its side, thankflly it allready had the dinted tank and busted fairing on it.
just requires left indicator, gear lever, left handdlebar and bar end and clutch lever
so i got a gear lever of dave silvers and two new bar ends and bar end screws, a left hand comple handlebar of ebay and pair of levers off ebay and an indicator of ebay too.
better luck in the new year eh! think i might get my self a van.

Re: O.B.E (One Brused Ego)
Glad too hear you're OK Seb, but none the less still not good about the bike. It seems to be extra bad this year so far for black ice etc. Almost impossible for the gritters to keep on top of it even if they have the funds to do so, so do take care out there.
Four wheels certainly sound a better option to me,

Bejesus! Bad luck mate.. I wouldnt even dream of getting the bike out. I wouldnt get it off the drive before coming off. We have an inch of black ice for the first 1mile

Re: O.B.E (One Brused Ego)
well i thaught i had seen the last of the bad weather and after nealy highsiding on a roundabout coming through chorley from horwich to leyland i thaught right ease off a bit and i will make it in one peice, sweet.
well i did make it fine, then later in the night it came down hard didnt it... sh1t sh1t sh1t < that was my initial thaught because i couldnt leve the bike at work as work was shutting for chirstmas Doh!
if work and the concil had gritted the road's i would have been able to stop it wasnt that i was speading or considerd my self to be going to fast for the condition's it was the fact that for a good 40 feet there was a patch of untouched ice that had been compacted by the lorry's going up the hill and spinning and spinning so when i came to slow it just was never going to happen, the road going down was fine and had no ice it was going up that was wombles but because i had been along the road i stupidy assumed it was fine on the otherside, lesson lerned again here < Assumption = Mother of all wombles ups

Re: O.B.E (One Brused Ego)
Been there, done that.
Mine should be back on the road next week, final bits being fitted and set up.
But the wife made me move it back outside, and just because apparently we'd have to eat Christmas dinner off our knees, as I had the bike in the conservatory/dining room.
So much for "spare a thought for those outside in the cold and wet with no roof over their heads". My butt
All I want for Christmas is to open my hand and being able to let go of the spanner!

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
