When i got my Storm,i was over the moon and loved it,but after the cct prob and totaling the engine ,im second gessing myself to get another

i also like the Sp1/2 befor i decide to get 1 in the near future, Id like to ask what common prob's do you get with them and do they suffer from cct failure like the storm

No common failures on the SPs. Engines are bulletproof. Suspension is very good quality (though harsh, especially on the SP1). I would advise trying one first though....the riding position is very different from the 'Storms (very forward biased).

Try an SP out, they are tougher than the Italian alternatives (Duke, Mille). Not heard many horror stories.

I'd agree with that Tim, they're defo not a commuter. I rode mine for a few hours yesterday through heavy town traffic. I don't find it an issue in the grand scheme of things though.

As long as you know what you're buying into it's a very, very small price to pay imo the bike was designed as a racer after all.

As regards the PC...I'll not be buying one. FSM was right when I bought the SP...the fueling is fine. I've ridden far worse bikes in that regard.

I thought mine was more comfortable than my Firestorm. The 'Storm used to kill my wrists, whereas the SP1 was OK? I know it sound perverse....maybe it was the clipon angle?

They run very hot too....trickling through down will get the frame hot enough to gve you a burn (rear cylinder position and gert great exhaust pipe running through swingarm).

well its a good thing i live in a small town ,,it wont be used that often in towns,,plenty of country roads ,

and will only be used on nice sunny days.

will get a cheep runaround for crap weather.

Like I said earlier Jack-just make sure you realise what the bike was designed for in the first place when you buy it and you'll be fine They are ace

Hi Jack VTR,
I had a Storm for 8 years and lusted after an SP but eventually succumbed, I find the SP a good bit more comfy than the storm. This surprised me, as it is a more head down butt up type of bike.
Mine is 2 teeth up on the rear sprocket at the moment and I don't feel it is any more lumpy than the storm was and it has not got a power commander of any description. (use the clutch!!!)
All I need now is a set of gold wheels and I will be totally happy.
