Post by seb421 »

My Blue Flames arived today, extremley well packed. fantastic build quality, welds are spot on and the finish looks good, also put the old logo on as requested, and i like the removable baffles via a criclip :)

Could you not borrow some and make a copy Marra?

Most baffles I've had/seen are pretty crudely stuck together anyway

That's my approach too :D

Feck the baffles or standards come MOT tbh.

I just pop a packet of choccy digestives upto the local garage I use and exhausts don't matter :biggrin

I am looking to buy a pair of single port Blue flame exhausts on Monday ( £255 ). It seems to be a very good deal.
Are the Blueflame VERY loud ??? The reason I ask is that I am buying these to replace my Remus race cans as I feel that they are too loud for me - I don;t want to get rid of some loud cans to replace them and have the same problem again.

Leave the baffels in, the neighbours cant complain if your road legal, evan if it is loud, i hope mine are still loud as im hopeing the boys in blue will still be keen to pull me over and i can relax :)

Fitted them today, and used timbo's advise and got the paste he recomded! exclent stuff.

nice and quiet, at tic over can talk over the bike, where before had to realy shout to talk to some one with those ill fitted race cans

the fit and finish is spot on with the cans, the fit like a glove on the manifold nice and tight and hurray no blowing at the joins!!

warmed them up, left the bike for a few hours warmed it up and went for a quick blast, (baffels in)

my god its so much better pulls a lot harder, enougth now in 3rd under hard acceleration to make the bars slap.

and on full chat it makes a nice noise! not as deep as i would like or as throbing but im sure that will change when i take the baffels out :)

the bike also ticks over a lot better and doesnt cut out on warming up on the choke now.

when i clean the bike tommorw i will take some pics if i can find the camera.

cant wait to get this Dynojet kit fitted now had it lieing around for a month or more.

Ok, that makes my mind up - thankyou for posting that :D
My biggest concern was that the cans will be too loud for me - if they are reasonably quiet with the baffles in at least I will have the option of some noise with the baffles out

The deal from Blue flame is really good.

What is the difference with the 2 port cans - is it just a different sound ?

When I spoke to Nigel ( Blueflame director )at Blueflame on Friday, he told me that their cans should give an ectra 8bhp on the Firestorm. I was surprised that that was so high to be honest. I reckon I probably already get that with the Remus race cans that I currently have so I will be unlikely to notice much difference

i herd a bike with twin ports and personaly didnt like the sound, do a search on youtube and im sure youl find a few twins with twin ports fitted,

on an inline 4 with a single can i think they sound okay and look good, but two cans with 4 exits on a bike looks a bit OTT and i think its lot extra to pay just for another port too, imho that is.

Nigel at blue flame quoted me a 2 week lead time which i was fine with, they turned up after a week and one working day, result! super happy with them and glad i asked for the old sticker too.

my neighbour across the street came over today and thanked me for fitting them said "i was doing his F-ing nut when i warmed it up at 8pm everynight and again arving home at 3ish" (am)
