Today-silver Firestorm with a blue stripe down it. Blade forks.

Pulled in with a mate on a RSV (new shape)

Anyone?

I was sat having a cupa with the SP tucked away down the road :)

I managed an 80 miler, SP's not a happy bunny though. FI light came on for a while and the speedo stopped working. After a refuel the FI went out and never came back but the speedo never recovered. Sort of spoiled the ride. 2 inch of snow today though so I am glad I went.

Jim,

I know the CB's FI doesnt have a knock sensor but the SP probably has, so it would sense sh1t fuel, right? Was it old fuel? This could casue the FI light to come on.

No knock sensor on the SPs.

Jim, the error code will be stored in the ECU memory. Lift the seat and locate the wiring loom connector that is sitting near the battery, on the RH side of the bike. not plugged into anything. Bridge it with a short piece of wire, then turn the ignition on (kill switch on as well).

If there's a code, the FI will flash your code(s). Count the flashes.
There's long blinks and short blinks.
Long = 1.3 seconds
Short = .5 seconds

If you have a long blink, the 3 short ones.....that's 13.
A long blink = 10
A short blink = 1
9 short blinks = 9....and so on.

BLINK CODES:
0 - bank angle sensor, ECM, PGM-FI fuse
1 - MAP sensor
2 - MAP sensor vacuum hoses, or sensor itself
7 - ECT sensor poorly connected or open circuit
8 - TP sensor, TP sensor wiring
9 - IAT sensor connection, or open wire
10 - Baro sensor, or connection, or wiring
11 - Vehicle speed sensor, or connection or wiring
12 - #1 injector connection, or faulty injector
13 - #2 injector connection or faulty injector
14 - #1 connection or open/shorted circuit
15 - #2 connection or open/shorted circuit
18 - Cam pulse sensor, connection or loose sensor
19 - Ignition pulse sensor, connection or loose sensor
20 - faulty E-PROM in ECM.

If there are a number of errors stored in the ECU (very possible) the most recent error will be the last one.

Zak you are a gent. The error code reads 11 (one long one short) which sort of makes sense as it points to the speed sensor. Thanks again will buy you a pint/coke if we ever get chance to meet.
