Does this look dodgy?

If you look at the third picture (the one of the frame number), it looks like a re-stamp to me!?

Or is that just how they are done on the 'storm?

You can check it on the DVLC site, but I'd be a little concerned as anyone viewing that site could easily copy or clone it.

But if it comes with a V5 with the current owner's name and address on that's a good sign.
As long as it's the same address you collect it from and same name as the person you pay.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

doubt it's a restamp tbh - they are quite a common item with the v5 and don't go for much more than £80 on ebay.
could understand it if they were like rocking horse poo.

and also on public sale on ebay?? be a bit daft advertising a ringer imo.

Seriously doubt Charlie and Richard (owners of MCR) would be knowingly involved in dodgy deals. I've know them well for many moons since they both worked in parts & sales at Redline Honda, Colchester, before it went tits up due to the owner using the company to subsidise his playboy lifestyle. Afterwards Richard and Charlie struck out on their own and have worked damn hard to build up their breakers from scratch - E-bay is currently their sole sales area so they wouldn't want to screw it up. Their emporium is only a mile away from me so if anyone wants me to take a closer look at anything they have for sale let me know.

They'll soon have a separate website http://motorcyclerecycle.net/ for parts as they currently pay ebay/paypal a small fortune in commission.

hmmm.. the only reason why I say is because I was once told by a copper that it should look machine done, i.e. all the lettering perfectly spaced and aligned (which it doesn't look like it is to me), also it looks like the metal beneath the lettering has been buffed/polished smooth.

it may just be how all storms are though- is anyone elses like that?

Just peeked at my headstock stamp while I've got the bike dismantled and it looks the same as in the ad - There's a raised area with the rough casting polished smooth for the stamping is. (clearly seen pic 1 in the ad and in the pic from my headstock)

Unless Honda were buying knocked off frames ....

Thanks Wicky - all this was really to settle my mind as my headstock is exactly like yours and the one on ebay.

I panicked just after I bought my storm as I thought I had a restamped frame, this makes me feel much better though
