HELP NEEDED
HELP NEEDED
could anybody help me,i have a 98 zx9 with handling problems,i've fitted new fork seals as they were leaking and a new front tyre, reset the suspension back to factory but it wants to washout on me in bends,i've heard that the C MODEL and the ZZR1100D both suffer with weak springs and have light fork oil in them..is this true??? also does anybody have any track setting for the zx9,any help would be great.

Re: HELP NEEDED
i suggest you whack some progressive springs in, front & rear - have a chat with ftr suspension on 01284 752102 - very helpfull chaps, know their sh1t.
they can supply and fit the springs if you're not upto it yourself and will certainly be able to advise you on how best to set it up for road / track.
i was impressed by them - awfully nice chaps, get my business anytime and i know others here agree.
if it's wandering off though, get the front jacked up and see if there's any play in the headstock - back & forward movement when you hold the forks tight, also tightness or notchy, doesn't want to move from the middle position...
rear end, again, jack it up, see if you can move the swing arm side to side to check for wear in the bushes, up & down to check for wear in the suspension linkage(s)
bushes, bearings & seals are consumable items like tyres, and for best performance they need to be maintained (greases & cleaned) and replaced before the book says
i haven't personally ridden a xz9 but will gladly thrash the butt off it for you and tell you if it handles like sh1t or not

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
