New bike, new helmet ! Any recommendations ?

Post by vtwin »

Now I have my dream bike I think its also time for a new helmet. My trusty Takachi TK56 has done me proud but the time has come for an upgrade. :D

Don't want anything flash, just a good quality, safe, quiet and comfy helmet that doesnt fog up and has good peripheral vision.

From my MX days the best helmets were Arai, Shoei or Bell, but things have moved on a bit I feel

I know a helmet is personal but any advice appreciated

shoei raid2 - best fitting, quietest, lightest lid ive had yet.
best thing is, theyre wind tunnel developed meaning you get very good high speed stability (no nodding dog syndrome) plus virtually no wind noise at 3 figure speeds.
(assuming you have fitted the visor proper lol - which is easy enough with the quick release tabs)
pick them up about 200 notes. think mine was 215, which i thought was pretty damn reasonable for a shoei.
should come with pinlock antifog visor.

http://www.racevisors.co.uk do good cheap apttern replacement visors, including the very cool black tint & iridium ones for less than £20 with a free bag
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
