Pirelli Diablos on A Firestorm? Anybody tried them yet?

Post by Leepy »

Due some new tyres.. it has a repaired (Twice by the looks of things BT56 on the rear and a kackered Dunlop 207RR on the front)

I had Pirelli Diablos (Not Corsas or Super Corsas) on the Fireblade after having Bridestones on all my bikes... they made a massive difference on there. Excellent tyre, confidence inspiring, grippy, stable and excellent in the wet.

The thing is.. what are V-twins like on tyres? Would I still get the same impression from them on a VTR as I did on the Blade or will it be totally different with it being a different bike?

Any experiences and recommendations welcome :D

Oh yes ted! :D
They are fuggin brill! over allthe way both sides, no major slides atall and Ive had the pegs down both side. Given me loads more confidence and transformed the bike after the awful Dunlops I had on.
If you liked em on your blade than you'll love em again.

Wear ain't bad either, got 3-4mm to go till wear indicator and Ive done around 2K so, prob 3K I'd expect, thats with commuting too an lots of front wheel elevation and tryin to spin the rear (thanks to great grip not much luck...)
I got knocked down, but i'll get up again and you'll never ever keep me down!

I've got Diablo's, they were on it when I bought it so can't compare to others but can't complain. I've replaced the rear but that was shagged when I got it.

I've got a pair of Diablo Corsas, which I bought for the 'summer'.

As there has not been a summer I have worn the back out pulling weelies up and down the A2 (new 15t sprocket you see).

I recon the rear will be gone in 500 miles and I must have done about 1k so far.

Brill tyre, but perhaps a bit oo grippy for the Storm.

Fitted Diablo's on the weekend ...

They are not even scrubbed in properly due to the weather but already they feel great!
Bends where I would feel unsure in the wet on the Pilot Sports I now feel much more confident. 8)

I reckon I'm going to enjoy these

I bought them off eBay for €228 + €29 shipping charges (from Germany)
I took off the wheels myself and had the tyres fitted and balanced for €45.

Last time I bought a set of fitted tyres it cost me €400 for Michelin Pilot Sports!

That's a cool €100 safed over the Ripp-Off prices asked by the dealers! :D

Sign up to http://www.rodamoto.net and they'll mail you offers that realy can't be beaten (over here anyway) The last offer I got was 191.40 for a set of Pirelli Evo Dragon Corsa front and rear, adding 30.00 for delivery.

Ta, RQ...
Had the offer of a set of used Evo Corsa's (5 laps round Mondello) for €120,- which i declined ... Don't think they're well suited for Irish weather & roads :x

Friend of mine knows the Pirelli Importer for Ireland and his best price was €300,- for Diablo's.... :!:

Have book marked the site anyway and I will keep them in mind for my next set of rubber :D
