SP1 ... Now Happy... Set face to stunned...

Post by tonyf »

Following on from the Not Happy thread, bike has been in for shims today and a check over. All good, no problems to report, just need to finish cleaning it and then it's good to go. I reckon there's about 12 hours work left until I'm happy.

Gorgeous day over here so couldn't resist a little blast even with the main fairings off... OMG, apart from nearly wheelying at the lights - it is magnificent. Love the riding position (it was only a few miles :D )and that V twin growl is fantastic. This is all Clarkey's fault - if he'd left his SP2 at home, I would have never bought one!!!

Just need some decent indicators and it's sorted...

Funny that-I'm just waiting for mine being delivered :D

Should have em tomorrow so the bugger should be back together tomorrow evening-just need to pick some coolant up and I'll be good to go again  just as it rains on Saturday...

Glad your enjoying it-they're ace. Spent half an hour ogling at mine yesterday with a cuppa and the fairings off :biggrin Those lovely magnesium cases/covers and HRC stamps... 8)

Got the SP1 90% of the way there today - the wheels and callipers need to come off for a proper clean but with the weather being nice, I couldn't resist going out.
Without doubt the best bike I've ever ridden. I always thought my old Yamaha FZ1S and my 1050 Speed Triple would take some beating, but this is without parallel. I did some town riding and then up from Newtown towards Welshpool and I was grinning like that mad-bloke on the Cannonball Run....

Anyways - here's some pics from today... Dont like the indicators, but easily fixed...

Saddest indicators ever.... Even the Missus likes the SP-1!!

Dunno if anyone wants one, but I've decided that going to shift my Speed Triple 1050 now. I actually want a 955i Speed Triple instead or maybe a 1200 Bandit / 900 Hornet that I'll take in as part-ex Only 4800 miles, 55 plate... £5k as a straight deal or will take bike plus wonga... e-mail me if you're interested

I've got to ask, why sell the 1050 for a 955.
I've always fancied a speed triple as a second choice behind a v twin!

I wanted a 955i when I traded my last bike (an Intruder  ) but there was too much money in the Intruder to do a deal on one. So I ended up with a 1050 - great bikes, but I hated the back-end look of the bike. I got offered a 955i plus cash which in effect meant the SP1 cost me nowt.... So game on... :D

Thanks it all make sence now! I do like the back end of the 1050, I just need to find the little money tree now!

Looks very good! When you said 955i I thought it was one of those Sprint ST things...... thought it was odd. But now I see what you mean...... I always liked your orginal Triple that you did the NW200 on in 06. Is it akin to that one?
