Urgent....... Security Camera .

Post by pariah »

Need best sort on the market please. Also at moment cannot afford a to expensive one.

Reason for this, last night some one came on to our property and un done the cover and nicked the oil filter. Funny how i got a letter days before from the people who own the building regarding me parking the bike where it has been for over 3 years.

So now need to put up camera to protect her. Wish I could park it some where safe while I carnt ride her.

Stole an oil filter? Why'd someone do that?
Wouldn't an alarm be better than a camera.

i would imagine it was an attempt to wreck your bike.
next they will complain about the oil patch on the floor

ditto BH.
Designed to wreck engine etc
It is also a way of saying "We know where your machine is and can get at it any time we feel like it" Now move it etc etc.
Report this to the police. Yeah I know they won't be interested, but insist on getting a report file number from them. If more 'damage/intimidation happens then you can point out that they already have it logged and quote the number/date etc. Good for the insurance comapany too.
Good luck!!!!

Just a camera (with you sorting out a connection to an old VHS recorder perhaps?????)

Fit a full bellypan; you can't get at the filter then.
And you'd need to lockwire the oil filler cap with something solid, too.

Thought about a charged capacitor "alarm" down by the filter?

Full belly pan all ready fitted.

Cover was fastened down over bike as well and was really close to a brick flower bed. So a Very narrow gap to get in to as well. Checked the filler cap and it,s still there with no signs of any residue from a foreign body so to speak.

Bikes parked tucked in a corner in the area where everyone else has to walk past and is light up by security lights when any one walks around the corner .

Just baffles me why people would want to do some thing like this . :confused

Oh no, I long lost the ability to believe in the good in people unless they show it first. Cynical? Perhaps, but life sets you up for that.
Total lack of respect for people, their property etc etc............................... but I am 51 yo so I can't think things will get better.

Oh, but soon at your age your memory will go, and you won't have to remember that people used to have the ability to be good, and you'll be happier then, as you will have lower expectations.

As I always say, expect the worst.
That way, you'll either be pleasantly surprised (which is nice) or be proved right.

I'm right quite often these days!
