yes i like but that is drastic garage work i think some mods for easier riding could be done far simpler some people go at things hammer and tongs, sometimes more time thinking less time doing works out far better
Re: storm gone
Hi firestorm mike, had a really good look at the attachment you showed me and all i can say is WOW,is madcow still on the forum? i would really like to talk to him he should go into production..........why do i say that? well my reason for calling myself stormhurt is that is exactly what it did.Myfault really february freezing cold did not warm the engine till showed 35 onthe gauge.Pulled away blase as you do ride through the cold engine without choke, heywhat the hell it will be warm by first junction,sh1t BMWpulls out in front concentrating on doing 5 to10 mph b8stard throttle quick engine coughs locks up back wheel front tucks i am thrown off in a kind of whiplash smashed me bad steelwork means cant go through airports easily dont blame bike still love vtr but would like one modified to suit my bad leg .......nuff said?
Re: storm gone
Not good news on the Vara swing arm.
I had a look a this conversion as I wanted a longer arm for drag racing, but the fittings are different, and this also means that putting a Storm engine into a Vara for more power isn't straightforward either.
Do-able, but not a straight swap.
Why not drop into a big breaker and compare the two, see what machining or spacers would be needed?
But TBH I came to the conclusion that it would be easier to machine off the end blocks/wheel adjusters, and weld on a longer pair form a drag swingarm. More adjustability, and a side benefit is that the swingarm brace typically fitted from a Blade would then give a much better option re mounting the rear brake, as the longer arm would simply give more room at the brake mount end.
But Metmachex do a replacement arm for these, maybe they can produce something longer than standard, worth an ask.http://www.metmachex.net but their list price is £575
When I was at the Bulldog Bash this year with Benny we saw a Storm with a peg conversion where one side was about a foot further forward than normal- didn't get to meet the owner but it's likely that he had a similar leg problem.
Must have taken a bit of getting used to but no biggie, I would have thought.
The riding position on the Harley V-Rod street drag bike looks ok, not sure if it's comfortable, though.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
