Insurance rant...

Post by tonyf »

Anyone use a decent multi-bike insurance policy... I'm with MCD/Aviva. Sp1 and Speed Triple on it - just had a monster rant at them based on changing a number plate and actually having a 'cheaper' Speed Triple (955 instead of 1050) and they're still charging me!!

Also just discovered that the excess on trip is £250 with £500 on my SP!! Pin-out time... :x

I am with IAM Surety and they just added my BMW on to my current policy and then charged me £55 to cover me until April (when the storm's policy runs out) The £55 included a £16 admin fee. The underwriter is KGM.

The only thing with IAM Surety is that you need to have passed the IAM test.

use tesco insurance comparison m8 - you will be surprised how low you can get it.
i use ebike meself - not the cheapest but easiest to swap & change, add bikes, riders etc with no gay admin fee.
use their online service to tailor a quote to suit, trim excess, add mods, security, pillion cover, eu cover, breakdown cover etc
just to annoy you.... mine is £87 a year fc for my firestorm, cbx750 & zx750 & that's with 6 points lol....
before i added the zx it was only 78 - the cbx is 25yo now so i don't pay for that one, you get a free classic bike policy with your standard policy :D

also if you pay it monthly by DD there is no extra charge and you get a year's no claims discount for every 8mths continuous cover.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

The lass on the phone has filled in a 'Grumble' form and I've told then to sort it out. My insurance has still got 6 months left on it, not sure how much you lose out but its got to be worth a looksie....

Your not wrong Mike. I pay £129 on the SP.

My car insurance is about £540-it's disgusting :x

mike, i use endsleigh for my mg - for the mrs & me (6pts) as named drivers it was only £158 with free green flag - 100s cheaper than the nearest quote.
give them a try - i've been with them for years now & no silly renewal price rise either.
