Motability allowance comes as a payment, not a vehicle, so you can spend it on whatever you want.
Insist on it as a "direct payment", and you'll want the higher rate, because the lower rate isn't worth anywhere near enough to run a vehicle.

If you need more info I can assist, as I have to deal with this sort of thing in my work.
I also have access to (worth their weight in gold) the medical questionnaire notes that are given to the people who have to make the medical assessments, including the scoring information, which means that you can make sure that you answer in such a way that you get the full award.

It's really easy to say the wrong thing, after all this is one way the government is able to get people off the sick and into work- one wrong answer or trying to put a brave face on things and they'll withdraw your benefits. So we're getting pretty good at helping the people I work with pass the medical.
If this is in any way helpful let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

But if you get a trike I want a go......
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Well here's an update on me hip problem. I asked my docotr for an referal to the Royal Orthapidics Hospital here in Birmingham. IE second opinion.
Went friday to see a specialist there, after having another x ray first I then got to see him.
The good new is, I have no signs of arthritus and my bones are in good nick. I'm now waiting for the call from the hospital to go and have my pre med before my operation to have a new right hip fitted. SO fingers crossed, he said I would be sorted before the end of april

This specialist actually taught the first specialist that looked a me last year. We spoke about his report and this new specialist was gobbed smacked that he wasn't going to fix me and that he put that I didn;t want a hip replacement . I told him most of his report is incorrect . This new specilalist said that he had wasted a lot of time and money for the NHS. If I had gone to see him last year, I would have been sorted and well under way by now. Even could have been back at work. Mind you he has told me I have to change my job now as It was the heavy lifitng and twisting that caused the damage to my labraum in the first place. Nice to hear that as it means my employer is now F****d as it clearly show there neglect and the injury is a direct result of not providing the correct equipment for the job.

So if any one needs help , look under The Royal Orthpaedic Hospital In Birmingham and ask you Doctor to be refered. If you can be fixed these are the boys. No messing about here.
 Mike... I recall you have problems with your back don't you. Might be worth looking into mate.

So I can now, send the bike of to roger and get her fixed up as i'm gonna be able to ride her again now. She's been sat here now since last September so I think the brakes are gonna be siezed up . :(

I'm delighted with the good news, but on the otherside of the coin. I now have to sit and watch my dad dying, he's been ill for some while now and last week the Doctor informed my mum that he's got about 4-6 weeks .
Dont want to be in hospital while this is going on. They live the the side of the country as well so it's at least 3hrs to get there if needed.
If I had seen this latest specialist, I would have been fixed and I could have gotten over there straight away. Life's a wombles bitch some times. :( :(
