what have you done to your "bike" today
Re: what have you done to your storm today
yeah i was using hair dryer, watched plenty of vids on how to do it and the stuff itself worked well on the flatter parts, it was when it came to the curves then it would crease and the carbon fibre effect was replaced by a rolled up vinyl effect!
think the stuff would be perfect for putting decals on flat surfaces, or simple wraps but just was not ideal for a whole fairing lower

Looks a bit low, could you shorten the sides and lift it up a bit?
Nice from the front angle, though.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I like the improvisation - don't forget to make a hole for the oil level window

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Ah, the dishwasher, best friend of the secondhand parts-buyer.....
Second only to the freezer when installing head bearings.
If I'd known you were going to clean it I'd have sent you the dirtier one....

Re: what have you done to your storm today
only clean and fully working parts go back on my bikes bit of a ocd

Re: what have you done to your storm today
Mine had Denso Iridium plugs fitted, fresh 5/30 oil, cleaned K+N filter and re-oiled, stripped clutch and fitted stronger springs, and then went back to Halfords for more oil as I filled the bugger when I hadn't put the drain plug back in........
£20 worth of new lovely oil in the old stuff.......Bollox.
And 100/80W headlight blue bulb, and a few other bits and pieces while I was there.
Bloody Hell, just heard an Opie Oils advert on the telly while I had Motors TV on. didn't know they advertised on there....

thought fkinell, how much oil does this take then seen the slick on the floor!

Re: what have you done to your storm today
done my oil, rounded off the drainage bolt so had to borrow a rather good socket that cuts into the rounded bolt and hey presto off in seconds!
then replaced it with a nice new shiny bolt and washer BEFORE i but the oil in
got a rectifier coming off ebay -thanks for the link benny!
put on fairing lowers after them being sprayed black again.
Then i think im pretty much all done for the summer!

Cleaned carbs and put everything back together, running sweetly once again! Attempted CCTs but came unstuck on the cheese like bolts. Going to get local engineers to weld a socket on and see if they can machine a set out of something more substatial!

not rushing the firestorm though, still got the zxr to ride
*edit----- just bought yet another one lol so there will be 5 bikes in the garage!!! not told mrs yet

Re: what have you done to your storm today
Started it, cleaned it, looked at the weather outside and decided to clean it some more, cant believe that changing cct's made such a difference to the starting though.
