Bike Dynoed

Post by gwellsbury »

I am so loveing my bike again. It had been running really rough but got it back today after having new jets fitted and having it dynoed. it is so smooth now and i have seen a healthy gain. 11 bhp with me new filter and exhausts and an increase in tourque the bike has been transformed and it is amazing to ride now :D

Have you got the chart?

Mine desperately needs a proper setup, it's a touch weak - open cans, and I plan to do the airbox mod and fit an advancer too...

Clive,

Your's is very weak, normally between 12.5 and 13.5 is the normal, BMW's drop back to 15 and leaner but only when they are held at a constant speed I.E. 60 mph at a constant speed the AFR will gently drop down. But they use some smart ECU software to check for knocking, speed, throttle position, gear whilst changing the AFR.
We have nothing on our VTR's.
The line is also very odd. Will post mine up later today.

I would get it seen too sooner rather than later my self.

Gwellsbury, nice power, what mods have you done to get 109? Std ones are around 100 ATW

I have got Viper Race cans on it and a pipercross filter. It is the filter that has made the difference it is a full race spec filter but the bike is so good to ride now its a monster. :D

Those are very good numbers for those mods, especially the torque...... makes me want to get a Pipercross.....

pulsing back on compression.... compresion check clive - not right that bud.
have you checked the vac lines arent perished and split?
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

If those two lines are torque and horsepower they cross over at entirely the wrong place- should be 4600 or so.
One goes up with revs, the other goes down- what are they?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

tbh i dont think its possible to have a fuelling line like that and as tony said, the torque & power curves should cross lower, as in 2k lower.
i think you need to use a different dyno next time mate.... that one looks broken.
if those curves and the fuel were for real the bike would be near unrideable lol

Where do I look Benny?

Alas funds have taken a beating at the mo, as CCTs repair came to over £270 - which accounts for all my tune up savings (plus food for the month)

But any home maintenance I can do would help.

My plans are to fit a K&N/Pipercross, cut back the siamese at the exhaust join before link pipes, airbox mods (remove baffles etc) - and probably 4 deg advancer - then Dyno and Jet Kit...

I know im very happy with the figures and it has transformed the bike. The pipercross filter is what made the difference but it is a pain to set up accordin to the dyno guy i used but was worth it

So who's your dyno guy, may I ask?

New to the VTR, and to the site - great bike, crowd, & advice. Looking to fit filter + jets & dyno tune, along with manual ccts & tps adjustment.

The company i used is Motrac Racing in Ellesmere Port. The guy there is top notch really knows his stuff he helped develop dynojet kits and is a dam nice guy. He spent 8 hours on my bike because he wanted it to be perfect and it is. Must say i have to agree with you the site is a great source and as for the bike im hooked ive always had inline 4s but this is just fantastic.

Ahh. Ellesmere Port is a bit of a blat for me - I'm in East Sussex, and considering HM Racing or Bob Farnham. I'll have to show them your dyno output & ask if they can match it

Wonder if your 'top notch guy' would share some of the settings for your bike to give a start point for mine :?:
