I agree, i saw a bloke on a bike the other week with a little lad on the back and he must have been about 6yr old as his feet did not even touch the pegs, he did however have a belt on with handles but even so it's just not done.

What would bike accident do to a child? none of us has the right to risk it.I hate a police state but I would agree with banning it.

about 3 weeks ago i was entering a island and on my left the was a old fella about 68 years old.... there was three lanes i was going right and had loads of room till the old boy decided to start coming over in to my lane pushing me closer and closer to the kerb, he got that close to me i actually banged on his window.... scared him a little... i only had enough room to get me and the bike through in the end.... squeaky elbow time that was...
he just wasn't paying attention to the road...

another one, i was on my way to work the other morning came off an island onto a crossing, hit the white stuff... a mixture of cold tyres, wet floor and a little to much gas, the rear wheel started spinning and nearly had me off... kicked out a fair bit, another squeaky elbow moment...

Last one for me was many months ago, when a woman in a Range rover, came out infront of me on a dual carrage way from the right exit of a garden centre right across the road into my Path, had to break so hard had the rear fishtailing, managed to stand a little press into the bike counter the rear slap, but damn was close. Guess she was more interested head in the clouds, couldn't see if she was on the phone tho, but had a few choice words and finger / hand motions when I passed her. The amount of people not looking left or right comming out of turnings from both sides of the road is crazy .

last week doing a relaxed 65 on a b road , open field to the right i noticed a crow doing that slow flying thing, flapping his wings real slow. couldnt see his face but he must have had suicide on his mind. the dumb b8stard set a steady course for my fairing. for what seemed like a while i thought he would change course, he didnt. i made the decision not to brake or change line and WHACK he went straight into the fairing and then full on to the visor. tried not to but my eyes shut for a sec.

glad i wasnt on a corner so no harm done (not sure mr crow would agree)

Sorry to say, no scary moments. I would say this is down to riding to my abilitys and treating every other road user as a NOB. So far it,s worked evry time .

I was out on my off road bike again this week end and it reminded me of some other moments............basicaly any time I go off road riding with my mate!!!!!!
Trials or enduro bikes, he will always go the the steepest hill he can see and decide it should be possible to ride up / down it.............I look at it and think "wombles off you would have to be mad, you will die!"............Then he goes and does it.

If he falls off I laugh and breath a sigh of relief, but if he gets through it, then I have the scary moment...........now I have to do it as well.

I can reccomend this to anyone approaching 50 to help them feel young and stupid again, but when you do fall off, you know it will hurt, so it that helps focus the mind and get the adrenaline running.
