hello everyone..
great forum very informative you folks obviously love your firestorms...i've been a motorcycle tech since 83..currently at a ducati specialist workshop..i have a 98 firestorm that i use as a daily transport....it's a lot more practical day to day than a 916...
anyway hello & i hope i can add something useful to the site...
all the best

Hello To Everyone...
Re: Hello To Everyone...
Welcome to the Forum Sid, sounds like you should be able to bring some knowledge to the team, and get us all envious when you tell us about the Ducatis that you get to ride, but then you can also tell us the horror stories from the workshop.

Re: Hello To Everyone...
Hi Sid welcome, I also ride a 98 storm. How many 98 Ducati 's do you get in your workshop? What do you think about build quality opposed to Honda? sorry so many questions but they might be answered for a lot of us who have thought of downgrading (if thats the right word) to a 916 or similar.

Re: Hello To Everyone...
I'm still getting my head round how this web site works so apologies for my ignorance Apparently you have some modified CCTs (see query on the Workshop section). Have you got any left and how much are you after?

Re: Hello To Everyone...
hello again..
hello Pop H..yes I made some mechanical cct's for my bike the day after the front tensioner failed for the second time..sorry i only made two cct's to keep my bike in service & don't have any for sale..the ones i've seen offered on this site seem really well made & great value for money or theres always APE tensioners...or you could make your own it's really not difficult, you can take all the measurements from a standard Honda tensioner...
the Ducati questions...sorry if this is'nt a popular answer but in all honesty ducati's are better bikes in almost every respect & generally very reliable...for me the real bonus of the firestorm is the price compared to ducati's (you could possibly buy two or three firestorms for the price of one 916)...in that respect the firestorm has to be excellent value once you've got the bike adapted to your own requirements & sorted out the weakness's like brakes, handling, cct's,suspension, handlebar height,etc...
how good would that be to make a bike that could match a 916 for a third of the money...plus get to know your bike inside out along the way..

Re: Hello To Everyone...
I plan to buy a 916 at some point as a collectors piece. What draws me to the Firestorm though is that I will be able to sit down in my office chair after riding it
Love Ducati though.
