newbie says hello

Post by bigpants »

Hiya folks. Just checking in to say hello. Ive been riding a guzzi 1100 sport for the last 3 years and have finaly had enough of it breaking down so ive done the sensible thing and bought a firestorm. Initial impressions are very good, the midrange torque is great although i was surprised by the lack of top end . Someones changed the gearing so the speedo reads fast , ill be changing that back soon. The blue flame pipes sound lovely , thinking of selling them though and making my own. Im getting about 9-10mpl at 90mph on a-roads which is ok and alot better than the guzzi.
There are a few other mods im inrterested in and wondered if any of you might be able to offer any advice. I want to remove the clocks (as gone naked) , is this ok to do without encountering electrical problems ? And id like to replace the two side rads with a more conventional front one - is there a known option ? Also im thinking of changing the rear seat/bodywork for something smaller and lighter.
I'll post a few pics soon although nothing to show so far !

Hello Bigpants (I said something very similar on my 50th birthday!). Welcome to the forum mate, you will find plenty of folks willing to point you in the right direction. Have a search through previous posts (use the search facility above). You will find a couple of lovely fighters with interesting mods. Good luck and welcome again.

welcome to the team mr bigpants.

regarding the rad conversion, it may be worth looking through the "pimp my ride" section, as there are a couple of nice fighter conversions in there.........if not there also have a look on teh USA superhawk forum, there are also some good conversions in there.
