Hello from a long time lurker!

Post by Opel »

Hi all.
I have been reading this wonderful forum for many months and have never posted. I suppose that’s a bit antisocial but anyway I'll make up for it now by saying hello to you all! (Can you tell I need some information?)

Anyway… V reg ’99 storm here and it’s my main mode of transport and has been for nearly a year now.
We are located in the deepest darkest Leicestershire and have been happily amusing ourselves since we first met.
I’m afraid I can’t offer much if any technical contributions, but I am willing to shout loud to all that's prepared to listen, as to how much fun these next to financially worthless storms are. So here the cry, 'Long live the VTR…'

welcome to the group, and hope to see you out and about as Leicestershire is not to far from west midlands / warwick border where I play

Hi

Thanks for the welcome!

I am lucky really because I'm surrounded by lovely routes in all directions, with few of the camera's that plague some areas.
I'm sure I can head 'west' for a change in the near future, before everyone packs up for the winter...

Worth a try as we still havnt managed a local run out yet :( only managed to meet 2 locals, Lloydie and Bullie, and both of them were at my garage, didnt get any riding done.

strange that I have managed to hook up with Benny, Geo, Tony.mon, Cheekykev on 2 or 3 occasions for a ride, and they all come from 100's of miles away, but not yet got a run out with the locals....

we must try harder before summer is gone to get a ride out in Warwickshire and surrounding counties........if not the Silverstone weekend [has to class as local for us?] then lets try other options

Good plan - should get mine and P's roadworthy and out this month - think we've left it too late for RTTW...

Many thanks for all the good and cheery welcomes!

@Geoff996. Sorry for the delay in reply… I’m near to Melton so not far from you. I see you’re in the heart of Triumph land. Have you ever had a factory tour? I’ve been around there a few years ago before the fire, but it was with work and not on an official tour and so I got to see behind the scenes so to speak, very interesting indeed. I wouldn’t mind going again to be honest… if they still do them.

Any ways all the best one and all. :D
