Did you do a backup, have you tried to reinstal the new ones again?

Alas, no - and I work with computers too!

I have the backup from my TomTom One I use on the bike - but it won't work on the Go...

I have a Garmin and they did this to mine, but there was a option to download to computer, which I did, me Nuvi crashed so used Mapsource to reinstall and that sorted it. Dont know if the Tom Tom desktop does the same, I do have version 6 on disc somewhere but this was for Win Smartphone. Where did the update come from? You could use a disc recovery program, should find free on web or memory card manufacturers to restore lost files.

Just a thought, you haven't hit the lock switch on the side of the SD card!
