Why?

Post by Opel »

I understand it's a radical thought but there's one thing I don’t get…

I cannot for the life of me understand why people would want to spend thousands on a BMW with big wheels, to follow the crowd when for not much more, you could have one of these…

I know which one I’d have, and I wouldn’t be afraid of mint sauce when I was sat on my Commando. I suppose it’s a question of ‘you pay your money...’ you know the rest.

I know this is probably going to get me flamed or even banded! I’ll get me coat. 8O

The norton is retro bike porn, with billet this and Ohlins that (I bet you could spend a happy winter day just looking at it in the garage), and if you just use the bike as a Sunday toy it would should be near the top of the list. The BM GS is close to the perfect UM (Universal Motrcycle......used to br UJM, but as it's German, that won't work!), it is good at everything.

For the way I use my bikes, I guess I could live with either, but it starts to become a heart vs head decision....I do take a pillion some days, and I do some high milage days where I need some wind protection, and I have had to carry luggage. I guess I might have to buy both

In the end, I guess, in many ways that is why I stick with the Storm and keep adding trick bits to it so it becomes my specific UJM
