Starting problem HELP

Post by Rod66 »

Hi my bike seems to have a problem when starting, it turns over fast then turns over really slow or stops then fast again so it takes a while to start, it's as if the battery is flat but it had a new battery in October, and had a bigger r/r fitted with bigger cooling fins,
Where should I start looking??
Thanx

Check all connections on starting circuit for corrosion. Pay particular attention to the starter motor located on front of engine, right in the firing line of all the crap from the front wheel. Peel back the rubber boot check, clean up & grease that connection. If that doesn't improve matters do a search in the workshop section re:- Starter Motor Connection, that should bring up a few posts with advice on that problem.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

yeh either that or the reduction gear behind the flywheel is slipping.... is fixable but check the starter first as said.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
