er not sure whether the vfr has the float switch or rheostat type sensor...
or if your storm is the pre or post 02 model.
if you have the older 16L model with the fuel light (not the led bars), then you need to use the original firestorm float switch and NOT the rheostat type from the later model.
reason for this is it is probably not a good idea to stuff 12-14v though a coil of wire immersed in a tank of fuel.
and your fuel light wont work, but that won't really matter as your bike will be in a thousand burning pieces
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
I'm brand new to owning a storm and have a '98. I like the idea of a bigger tank, and this line of chat I presume I can fit a VFR tank to my steed. Any particular year or other little bits I need? All advise welcome. Ta

No, not that simply. A 98 VFR tank can be MADE to fit, but you will need to beat the underneath to clear the engine and airbox, make up new front and rear mounts for the tank, make up a blanking plate where the old VFR fuel pump has been removed etc. It will then look way out of place. I know, I did it and soon put the old one back on. I'm also not convinced that all that panel beating on the base won't weaken the tank plus it will tend to sit on the airbox and I was concerned that the vibration could make a small hole - not what you want on top of the engine!
I did have it all on a website step by step but whilst I have the original pages and pics it isn't hosted anymore

all good points, but i will be running FCR flatslide carbs with no airbox, so don't need to mod the underside.
When subjected to an electrical voltage of at least 50 volts, a cat's tail always points toward the north.
