To cover or not to cover, that is the question

Post by Phlipsy »

I have always resisted covering my bikes in my garage as I have always been worried of trapping moisture and coming back to a rusty heap.
However, at the bike show this week I saw a cover made from 'breathable' material and it's got me wondering again. Any of you guys use a cover?

I only use old coats to cover the bike, but that is mainly to protect from knocks as the rest of my family think it is acceptable to lean their pushbikes against my storm.

According to my wife it is not normal behaviour to try and kill someone for not putting their cycle away properly :confused :Argue 1:

Another example of the differences between the fairer sex and sensible people. Obviously it should be a capital offence should anyone risk damaging bike, car or even tools.
Women a, can't live with them, can't shoot the bast*rds!!!

I'm with you AMQ they just dont get it do they?

I use a couple of cotton curtains

Outside I used a plastic one for about 4 years and never had a problem

It had breather holes and the draft that went under kept it dry

My first wife put a heavy metal tool box on the seat, rear end of a bike of mine once, scratched it to bits Hence she is an ex wife. That and the fact she was a grumpy fat bitch

I don't bother... it only gets wet/dirty(er) the following day when it's pushed out of the shed and used... being that it's my only mode of transport. However, it gets washed very regularly.

My better half would never dare to go anywhere near my shed... not because of anything I could threaten or any possible retribution... she just hates spiders!
