Post by tattoo »

hi all

i know this is a dumb question but.....is the taller stand for the front or rear....i ask this because all the stands i have are of equal height but the ones i've just got aren't....one's about 1-2inches taller....

Well I don't think it's a dumb question. I have a cheap orange coloured stand which lifted the back wheel about 2" off the ground (with bobbins fitted as advised on here) then I bought an all ally Motrax and there's hardly half an inch which makes wheel changes a doddle. As for front stands, I think they are totally different dimensions but someone will put us straight :biggrin

this is a front - if you look at the bracket that sits under the forks its like that to stop it slipping off

this style are the ones i have...they came in one box with the two sets of cups together in one bag and no way of telling which went with which stand...looking at them side by side they are identical except one is 1-2inch taller..i just wondered if the fronts are normally taller than the rears or is it just a case of lift n see...

thanks bud...wouldn't of asked but all my other sets are equal in height and with this set having 1 tall n 1 small stand i thought i'd ask before putting a bike on them and it falling over due to the stand being the wrong way round....
