Ducati 750ss First time project
Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
Just one comment, that I would have asked them not to coat the areas where the beads of the tyres sit, as there's less grip on pc, and the tyres might move on the rims.
You could scuff it up a bit before fitting tyres, though.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Thanks for comments guys
Tony I will bear that in mind, cheers

First but no doubt not the last problem
Removing the bearings from the cush drive and it breaks
So a new cush drive required
Oh well

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
Bit of an update
Found this, which is almost exactly what I intend doing to mine although I will be using different colours

I am using a monster loom to cut down on all the wiring
Hope you guys like the way its going

Update: DuCafe Racer
Just spent a couple of days put the bike together to get a look at what it will look like
Been cleaning up some of the parts ready for coating
It gives me a chance to look at where to remove lugs and brackets on the frame before I get it powdercoated again
Hoping to get an official workshop/parts manual so that I can see where things go
Comments gratefully received, though not always accepted
Started by getting the engine on the blocks and frame attached

Attached to the scaffold bar that is fitted across the room

The lower headstock bearing was a tight fit so turned it upside down and hit it with wood

Not sure if the upside down forks look strange.........hmmm
Maybe it's the gold that looks wrong

Will be looking for a single 8" headlight soon so a bracket is in order
Will have to make a start on the wiring loom as well

it's coming along... but it still looks like you're sitting on half a loaf lol

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
Will be able to take it all to bits again soon

If I sit on it now it would be one of those fancy loaves.......cos it'll have some nuts on it.

Hi Like yer 750ss
while yer got engine out check valve shims ,its much easier if its on the bench.
new belts.
get carbs cleaned ,set up
check fuel filter guaze in the tank before starting, tanks prone to rust.
I had mine kn filter and rejetted ,made a big improvement in power
bike got 2nd in run what brung at the bulldog in V twin class.(several yrs ago)
them where the days
original rectifiers prone to frying on them, upgrade available.
keep at it ,that thing will put a huge grin on yer face when ya whack it open
