k&n filter blanking caps?
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: k&n filter blanking caps?
Yes, they're important.
The caps isolate the air from the sponge filters from the airbox.
Without them, the airbox isn't a closed box with only air flowing in at the snorkel and out into the carbs.
It'll make it more difficult to get it fuelling correctly.
You might be able to chop the corresponding parts from an old standard air filter, shorten them a bit and silicon them into place in the airbox.
The K+N holds them down and seals them, so getting the height right is critical.
Too short and they'll leak, too tall and the K+N won't seal correctly in the groove in the airbox itself.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

If you can wait I'll have a look in the garage to see if I have a spare pair of rubbers.
I don't need mine now that I have gutted the airbox, and re routed the breathers.
I expect I've kept them; I don't throw much away....
Haven't time now, though, as I'm off to visit relatives, I can have a look on Friday this coming week.
