Avoid the expensive fully synthetic oils, use a good semi synthetic. The fully synth is not food for our clutch.

I use castrol, but have also heard good things about halfords own brand.

I use stock Honda filters, but no logic behind that

the main difference is in the additives.
cars dont share the same oill for the gearbox & clutch so usually have antifriction additives to decrease component wear.
you dont want this in a bike engine as it will cause the clutch to slip badly.

just check the oil you buy for your bike doesnt have anti friction / anti wear / magnatec additives.

you want a 10w/40 or 15w40 semi synthetic ideally or as close as.
(i find mine runs better, quieter, cooler and less clutch slip on 15w/40)
you can use mineral oil but it wont last as long.
or fully synthetic which is dearer, and you will waste a bit as you need to flush out all the old oil before switching to synthetic.

dont forget to change the filter!!!
it's an idea to fit a coke can over the filter to prevent it getting pinholed off stones & crap thrown off the front tyre as it is directly in the line of fire.
use a can opener or scissors to cut the lid off tha can - they fit over the filter nice.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Halfords also have oil filters to suit the Storm on the shelf in most stores.
I've been using them on my own and servicing customers' bikes for a couple of years with no problems at all.
About £7.

Mind you, I change oil and filter pretty regularly (but then I do thrash it a lot)
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Halfords semi is 21 squids for 5 litres at the mo, and the champion filters they do look like shite after a few weeks as the paint is made from ash, lidl's marmite spread, and cow poo, anyway it goes all rusty after a few weeks.

Oh and by the way I use the full synthetic, the engine spins up faster, starts easier and makes the bike "feel better", absolutely no clutch slip whatsoever.

Under heavy load with a hard race start mine would screech / slip with fully synthetic oil, switching to semi cured this for me
