Hi All,
Got the storm in my shed/workshop and unable to ride at moment, Buggered my knee.
But have been thinking about a few things, can some one give me some input please
1. can the lamps(bulbs) in the clock cluster be changed to white light LEDs, working out resistors and all that isnt a problem as got a HNC in electronics, what i want to know is will they fit etc
2. Is there any caliper upgrades that can be done relatively easily, Ive got a early water cooled GSXR running AP calipers and race disks and got used to the stopping power, or just change the entire front end?
3. Can a rear shock be fitted from any other bike/model, one of the mods for the early GSXR's is to fit a R1 shock and relocate the battery.
only other question I have is whats the bigger battery to fit?
Already planning the braced arm and cbr wheels mod and possible having a all alu rear subframe built.
has any one every tried making their own carbon bits?
sorry for so many questions

some good threads there from wicky, bulbs shouldn't be a problem, brakes are from the cbr600 f4 front calipers and master cylinder are pretty much a straight swap. and as for rear shocks theres a few options, replaceing the rear spring is the cheapest option, then theres buying a second hand aftermarket shock which pop up from time to time, or the cheapest new option is a hagon jobbie £300(they built me one to order for £375), and finally theres a fella in the usa who mods a cbr600 shock but i'm no expert to explain how he does it.
i'[ve done the cbr900 braced swingarm and it looks the nuts, tony mon started a thread on what your need to do in the workshop section.
there are carbon bits avaliable for the firestorm if you look hard enough but they are expensive, so there would be a market for someone to produce some carbon bits, you can get some nice carbon engine covers from carbonadi in germany(have a look at german ebay)
i hope your knee gets better and goodluck with your mods buddy

also been thinking about getting some of the body work carbon wrapped, tail units going to be first got a company down in whitstable that will do it and make me up some v2 decals to of set the carbon to, looks like I wont be able to ride for a few months so going to have a little play with the storm and change a few bits
Possible knee replacement, but wont know until after I have a mri scan next month, and I'm only 35 lol
got a few other mods in mid will see how they play out
