Got out today dispite the weather

Post by karenvtr »

The weather wasnt to bad this morning, just a bit drizzly and with the hope it would get better my hubby daughter and i arranged to meet up with a friend and have a quick blast to Southport.By 11am the weather wasnt getting any better but knowing i wouldnt get out on my bike for another three sundays i was determined to get out .

Our friend was havin bike trouble so we decided to blat to Bolton first to help him out ...and i got to ride the mighty zx10 8O 8O 8O ...but half way there in pissing rain fog and zero visibility we decided to stop and turn round...i jumped back on the zx9r for the journey home :)
When we got back Chris asked if i fancied taking the GPZ (Shrek) :) for a test run now that it was running ok ...and ...what fun i had on the little bike it had me grinning from ear to ear .. its a cracking little bike, comfy too ...so all in all not a bad day,i enjoyed riding all three :D

Went out for about 3hr myself, but sounds like I had far better weather than you! I was complaining about the low sun strobing through the trees making it hard to see. Roads were mostly dry, but still glad I had heated grips :)

Didn't you fancy taking the storm out for a run, or was it a kwak day?

lucky you gettin dry roads to play on ...theres no way id take my Storm out when the roads are sh1t up ...its sorn till end of month anyway..i need to take off the fairing and do a little tinkering ...was thinking of raising the bars a bit too as since i hurt my back the Storm hurts my back and wrists after about 50 miles ..ive been putting it off because i didnt really wanna chop the fairing down... dont know wat fer do at mo

went out saturday & sunday on the sp1....

hooning through flint towards deeside, at a respectable pace, i leaned it over on the last roundabout & VROOOOOOMschhhhhhh 8O (trummmmp)
butt end went wild on me, snaked me off over the road, bit of a wibble then off it went again lol.
absolutely crapped meself lol. closest ive come to a proper highside for a long time!

think i may have just touched a bit of diesel then gripped again suddenly!
had to pull over & smoke 10 cigs lol
good run though.... got to love them welsh roads

btw karen i got a bit of drizzle about 11 - 11.30 but by the time we got to mold / ruthin it was great... ended up too hot lol, well til the sun went down anyway - and the roads around betwsy coed , cerrygdrudion, denbigh etc were bone dry, had a cracking blast :)

you should come out for a hoon with us

mine used to throb my wrists a bit but i put rear sets on and the position is absolutely perfect for me now... no more achy wrists.
you could put a pair of vfr bars on but you need to trim 1/2" off the edge of the fairing - or put flat master cyls on like mine :)
tbh i took the vfr bars off mine when i put the rear sets on as its loads better honestly.

how tall are you btw?
just wondering cos on mine i flipped the rear shock linkage upside down & dropped the bars 15mm & its loads better for me...

Thanks for the info Benny im 5foot 6 ...i need to sort something out or im afraid i wont be able to ride the storm anymore as my back is geting worse.Ive been riding the zx9 0n and off since we got it two years ago but given the choice i always reached for the storm keys but in the last 6 months i always nab the zx9 as its had a 12r shock mod and the dog bones swopped making it a lot taller and better for me to ride...tips in nice too :D

yeh i think its worth you trying the linkage mod then.... just take it off, grease it all & fit it upside down, then drop the bars so there's 1/2" sicking out over the bars.
it handles a lot better and you will be able to flatfoot it no problem.

mine's in a few bits atm but youre welcome to have a sit on it and see the difference... it feels tiny compared to a standard one
