is it worth having these totally chromed or does the heat just discolour them?

The heat will most certain discolour them but if you're willing to polish n polish n polish I reckon they will stay in nice shine. ( sounded weird, didn't it?)

You can decide :) bearing in mind I did say they soon went a goldie colour after polishing them, this is how they look now:-

I remembered them and the work you put into them from soon after a I joined the forum - *eeek* Almost 6 years ago!
