URGENT How do i remove the clutch cover

Post by macphray »

Hi ,am in the middle of removing my side clutch cover ,i have removed all bolts from warer pump and casing ,now i have tried to remove it by using a rubber mallet ,with no joy. Is there any other way to do this as the idea of using a screw driver and hammer make me shudder as the engine is in mint contition so the last thing i want to do is mark it. :problem:

there are 2 dowel pins and the gasket bond to break, so a rubber hammer is needed, but you have to force the cover away from the crank case [ie at 90 deg to the bike] not along the gasket split [ie in the line of the bike],

there should be 2 bosses on the cover to lever against, one at the back and one at the front, use them, never try and put a screwdriver into the gasket face area [but you knew that anyway]
