Flush fit indicators, prob

Post by Steve97 »

I quite like these indicators as they seem to fit well in/on the fairing, however thats all very well but they tend to blink at a rapid rate, any ideas

They're LED's, not bulbs, and so you need to wire a resistor in line on the power side between the indicator and the bike.

You can get them form any bike shop, and Hein Gericke.

Alternatively a new flasher relay designed for LED's as well as normal bulbs.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Say you have LEDs at the front and standard bulbs at the rear will the flash rates be correct if you fit an uprated/LED relay? :confused

Yes they will, I had an all in one rear light with indicators and I fitted the new relay, flash rate worked perfectly as still had standard ones on the front.

I think those are medium cat's eye indicators, they are too small for the hole in the fairing, you may need to buy the large ones.

Yeah the clear kinda works with the yellow, Im not sure if it would work with the red.

Im sure hellride said peugeot 307 sidelights work too

might look into these.

Do you think that oncoming traffic would see the indicators ok???

In a group ride situation a storm with that style fitted on the rear bodywork due to having hi-pipes IMHO has about 20-30% indicator visibility compared to standard. Though tempted cosmetically to tidy up OEM = pragmatically I'll retain the existing fittings - things are hard enough with the 'I didn't see you' mob not to give them more of an excuse not to see an optician.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

That's why I use the teardrop ones like these:

They stand slightly proud, and can more easily be seen from the front.
