Front end change sp1/2

Post by bumblee bee »

Hi folks

I am thinking of changing the front end on my firestorm for some up side down forks and i know the norm is to go for fireblade 929 or 954 forks but i was wondering if anyone had added any other bike's front end onto there bike, was wondering if an SP1/2 would go in easy enough.

Im not unkown to a set of spanner's but aint no mechanic, so looking for a bit of help from the more knowledgeable on here.

cheers

It's the length more than anything else, if you also adapt the donor bike's yokes to fit.
If the bearings can't be sourced to convert form one to the other, then you can always chop the stem off the Storm one and have it grafted onto the donor bottom yoke.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hi, you can also try a cbr600fx/y front end, you may have to change the bearings but you can still keep your clipons on top of your yokes, plus the fork are 2mm bigger [43mm] and also have comression damping.
