Bikeshow - NEC

Post by t00lkit »

Well did anyone go?

Nice to see that Honda bothered to put the 'storm on their stand this year!

Couldn't believe that Aprilia didn't turn up, probably strapped for cash.

Well, what took your fancy, other than the exotica bikes (and the girl in the bath! ...)

Me, I really liked the look of the new Triumph ST Sprint (thinking of doing some bigger miles next year.) I've never ridden a tripple, but the write up sounds like you get the best of both worlds. Low down grunt, and top end revs - or something like that.

I rather liked the look of the Ducati S4R in the mags, until I saw it in the 'metal', it was all tie-wraps and bits of wiring. Not for me.

The bike I really fancy is the new BMW K1200S, but its 10k... but it looked ace in silver. I nearly ended up getting punched by a brummy, 'cause he got a right strop on when I wanted him to shift to take a piccie. I thought all bikers were mates?

Anyway, thats enough from me, what did you think of your trip?
ps, did anyone see the motorcycle and sidecar that decided to tangle with a truck on the M42!!!! Delayed me getting in by an hour... charmin' :?

Bike Show

Post by rumbler »

I went on Wednesday and was a bit disappointed, partly at having to park in Wolverhampton but mostly with Aprilia's no show. Seemed like there is a tren to custom/cruisers- suppose they are bikes, but not my sort. Liked the new Trumpet, but not the Beemer, it just looked too BIG. Might as well have a Blackbird.

The BMW was huge !!! It felt enormous sitting on it, as did the rocket. The best bike for me had to be the superduke. It was well comfy and you know it will handle and go like a beaut. Shame they didn't have their superbike there. The biggest disappointment had to be the Aprilia no show though. The coolest looking bike had to be the Kwak Moto gp bike. The rear end is just utterly, impossibly cool. Sat on Yukios gixxer too, top piece of kit. If I was going to part with cash, it would be btwn the superduke and the speed triple, hmm, the agony of choice !!
As soon as I read about the dangers of drinking too much, I immediately gave up reading.

I went on Sat 13th, was it me or has it gone down hill in the last few years :?: :?: :?:

I too like the look of the ST Sprint and decided that the 500 mile round trip would be worth it.

The only negative thing I about the Trumpet was the finish, it looked a bit plasticky the chrome on the heel plates looked like plastic chrome, but overall I liked it. The 3 theme ran all over the bike, 3 lights, 3 exhausts, 3 dials.......Hmmm could be overkill

The Rocket was fab, bloody expensive but I would like try one, has anyone tried it out yet? 8O 8O

Honda had a red 'storm on the stand, i had a good chat with a guy who is thinking about one, I still love my storm. :D I should have got commision

What else,.....
.............. :( not so much totty as before :( ........
or as many people... ........
.........the guys on the biker babe stand were pretty puny.. :? .
overall an good day but>>>>

>>not as good as the Edinburgh Show, if you get the chance it's in Feb/March, better atmosphere, more trade stands and cheaper entrance.........

See you there

I'm just a normal hairy arsed biker who's been to the NEC for the last god knows how many years and each year it seems to go downhill.

And Kaz there was nowhere near as much "totty" this year and lets face it that's a bloody good reason for going ................but the main reason is the bikes, the stands and the whole atmosphere, the chicks just add garnish :D :D :D

Your boys on the BB stand were nice, but for sure I'm not jealous of the shaved chest brigade!!!!  defiantly not my type!!!! 8O 8O

Rode to Ingleston last year it was fine, a little wet but that's half of the fun, use it all year - my storm doesn't go away in the winter, it's been used for the last 3 winters and still looks great

Look forward to seeing you there
