Bad Cold Start

Post by oldbikeman »

Ever since I owned the bike I've had to nurse the engine from cold. The previous owner had just paid a bike shop £150 to clean out the bowls . Turned out both starter jets in the float bowl were blocked .This is the long jet without the screw slot.Check it by putting a length of hose over it and sucking .If it is blocked I used a welding torch pin but any very thin wire should do it.Now it runs on choke beautifully.Start to finish took about an hour, easy.

Have just started a bad cold myself, nose keeps running*, probably flu, but I might try calling in with a bad back as I will get a longer time off.

Or, if I fancy the whole summer off, depression.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
