Still not charging!

Hi i've posted this question before(thought it was sorted).Right new battery,new stator(regulator),2nd hand r1 rectifer.Currently bike is putting out 15v when running,with ignition on its got 9v.First thing in the morning it turns once on the key then FLAT!.I installed led indicators which seem to flash at a high rate(even with 2 relays),i was'nt sure if this could be the problem.I have also fitted a led rear light which was staying on due to a faulty rear brake light switch,other mod was to remove front sidelight.Fresh out of ideas & fed up with costantly jump starting & getting pushed from garage forecourts thanks.....

have you checked all earth connections, particularly the main lead to the frame, from the battery?

My gsxr had same problem, tried loads of things in the end it was a bad earth conection. Cleaned it up and job done.

I agree it certainly could be a bad earth.

Does the new battery hold 12 volts if you charge it off the bike and leave it to stand over night

Well my bikes got 11.4-11.8 volts with the ignition off,with ignition on its got 9.8 volts.When i try to push the button to start it drops to 2.5- 2.8 volts then it jumps to 10.4 volts.I checked the starter ,there was corrosion on the connection .So sorted that & cleaned up the main earth.The bike has not been started for a week it just turns then clicks from the main fuse!.Fitted a 6mm spacer last week ,still not tried it out .

if the starter connection was so bad it couldve damaged the windings or relay.
dropping to 2.8v you have a major short somewhere or a totally dead battery.
are you sure you bought a good r/r? the yammy ones can fail as well!
and have you connected it properly?

Well i followed the instructions on a link that was posted,as for the rectifier ?????.I'm going to try another one then strip the body work & start from scratch........Thanks

What do you hope to achieve stripping the bodywork?
All the connections you need are under the front of the seat.
If battery voltage is dropping to almost zero, the battery is duff, assuming the voltage still drops with the RR and alternator disconnected.

If the battery is definitely ok, and fully charged:

Disconnect the wire coming from the alternator at the connector .
Also disconnect the RR.
Then start the bike, check that all is well.

Stop engine.
Next, meter resistance across all three leads coming from the alternator, it should be equal resistance between any two of the three yellow wires.
Measure resistance between each one and earth, they should all be the same.

If all ok, reconnect alternator lead, and fit a spare; known working RR.
