Hi from Reading, waiting for mine!

Post by Bal »

Hi all! Ive been off the bike track for a very long time, been saying I should get one for the last 7 summers and finally decided on a Firestorm. Thanks Smithie! I realise I cant post in the wanted adds section so I am bidding on the 52 plate, I am the highest bidder at the mo but I dont expect to win it, stranger things have happened on the Bay though. Looking forward to reading all the ins an outs and having a crack on what looks like a great forum.

Good luck, great bikes, great forum.
Guess it's that red '52 plate you're looking at (3 days left, £1410 now)?

Thats the one, I think I am been stalked, I can see that price going over 2k looking at whats around, Ive been warned about the HISS though, I am going to do a bit of searching on the forum to see if theres been any expensive issues other than loosing the keys and thieves.

If your buying a Storm from one of the members on here then there is a good chance that any expensive issues have already been sorted out. If not then have a look around for the following.

Reg/rec issue

CCT issue.

Get those sorted, if they havent already been done (like mr pinky procratinator here) then you should be fine for a lot of years.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Thanks, I think this is probably the safest bet, I havnt seen one advert mention manual CCT or replaced Reg, even the private ones, my guess is there not forum members, Ive been reading as a guest for a few days so i have been looking out for those things.

its a shame you justed missed out on johnd's black storm, a well sorted bike and he only wanted a grand(quick sale because he had an sp1 lined up)
the bike was worth more than a grand. keep looking around until you find a good one, don't worry to much about mileage, condition is much more important, and as its been said, try and find a bike thats been sorted, i'd also add as a bonus, if you can find a bike thats had its suspension tweaked it would be a result, changing the front springs and oil to match your weight makes a big difference to how the bike handles.
depending on how much you want to spend, i'd consider an older bike thats in very good condition and the money you could save could be spent on suspension tweaks and maybe a few other things.
goodluck with your search fella

Welcome aboard

Whatever you do don't mention the colour, just post pictures of a see through one

This lot will start taking over the thread :hijacked: with "my fast yellow one is best" "Oh not it's not, my red one is faster" :Argue: Oh don't be silly, everyone knows it the blue ones that are the fastest" :Argue: Well don't listen to him, what does he know" :Argue:

Then those with black ones start up "Our black ones are so much better than your yellow ones" :Argue:

So this starts of the yellow owners again :Argue:

It just goes on and on, a bunch of kids

It drives the sensible ones on here nuts :Cry1:

On and on and on :Disbelief:

Just doesn't stop

Ah, that feels better :Smoke2:

Thanks for the advice, I am going to give the bike543 a miss, just not enough info from them and yeah I would rather get a sorted one because I am one lazy sod, Gutted I missed that bike. :Ball Kick:
